A Comme des Garçons store opened in a museum (2008) where museum viewers were separated by a fence from Comme consumers shopping in store, as apart of Radical Advertising Exhibition. Rei Kawakubo places “guerilla stores” in locations around the world temporarily, generally away from fashion centered areas. This is a sweet concept, as it responds to the roles museums play, their relationship to viewer, as well as the separation of consumer from product. Comme is a unique brand that plays heavily with construction to create delightfully odd clothes!
